what is the tarot

PathandAnswers: What Is The Tarot?

In this edition of PathandAnswers, we will talk about what the tarot is. The obvious answer is that the tarot is a deck of 78 cards. The tarot can also be described as an occult creation tied to astrology, planetary magick, and esoteric disciplines. Before the cards were used as a tool for divination, the tarot was a card game developed in the 14th century. You can read more about tarot history here if you want to know more.

I see the tarot as a multifaceted art form. It is a learned discipline and a community-based skill. Here is how I would break down the tarot as a discipline.

Can Tarot Predict Time

PathandAnswers: Can Tarot Predict Time?

The answer to this question is a grey one. Yes, but with a few caveats. The answer exists as a spectrum.

There are devices built into the cards like the numbers and what the card categories mean. There are even ways to describe the seasons with the cards. Because of this, we can say that telling time is possible, but you should recognize there are challenges with it.

Can Tarot Cards Predict Love

PathandAnswers: Can Tarot Cards Predict Love?

The tarot can certainly indicate the potential of love. We have to be careful here because I wouldn’t say that tarot cards predict anything specific, especially love. What they do is reveal the realm of chaotic potential and possibility. They show us what could be, and we have to decide if we are going to step into it or not. In the case of love, it can indicate the potential of new love, relationships, and heartbreak.

Can Tarot Cards Get Tired

PathandAnswers: Can Tarot Cards Get Tired?

We should change the question and ask, can you get tired? The answer is yes, you can become fatigued after long reading sessions. If you choose to imbue your tarot cards with a humanistic personality then yes, you can also say the cards will get tired.

You will notice that if you ask the same question over and over the answers become curt. It is as if the cards are annoyed at you for asking the same question.

Have you ever asked your parents the same question again and again as a child? How did they respond after the third or fourth question? I bet they became increasingly annoyed with every question. You and the tarot cards will act the same way.

are tarot cards easy to learn

PathandAnswers: Are Tarot Cards Easy To Learn?

Learning the tarot is like learning chess. You can learn rules and play the game right away, but it can take a life time to master.

The human condition is rooted in cycles, once you achieve mastery you can then enter a new cycle. You always end at the universe where you are able to see the entire of scope of what you are trying to understand. However, in that moment you realize you know nothing, and thus become the fool once more.

Yes the tarot is easy to start, but you can spend a life time with it. If you think about the musician analogy it all comes down to practice. Musicians practice, and so can you. Enjoy the cards.
