The cards themselves are not supernatural. They are after all just cards. Images printed on paper, nothing more. It’s what the cards make our conscious and subconscious do that we could consider supernatural. The tarot cards act as a gateway to natural extra sensory abilities.
The cards themselves are harmless if left alone. After all, the hammer if left alone cannot build a house. Thus the tarot if left alone cannot produce any supernatural or paranormal effects.
We are the engine that produces these effects. Yes, when the tarot is used could give the impression of supernatural effects. Divination, mediumship, and precognition by definition are considered psychic abilities. However, it is not the cards themselves that are the source of these abilities, it is us, the human engine that drives them.
