Elemental Power Tarot Unboxing

Elemental Power Tarot Unboxing

I had a lot of creative visions during the months I was working on my tarot deck. I was manifesting the work and dreaming of the design it would eventually take. At some point in those months, I had a lucid about a tarot deck. I saw the cards very clearly in my mind. I wrote down what I saw in my dream. I thought I was going to create something like it. The decked turned out to be something that already exists, Elemental Power Tarot. The deck is made by Melinda Lee Holm with illustrations by Rohan Daniel Eason and is published by Cico Books.

The weird thing about this vision was that the tarot deck was published in 2020. This is a new tarot deck and wasn’t stuck in my subconscious because I had seen it before. No, this was some kind of synchronistic connection. Because of this I knew I was on the right track. I wasn’t supposed to make the cards, I was supposed to learn from them.

The Cards

Elemental Power Tarot is a different type of tarot deck. The major arcana cards do not have any human representations. Each major arcana card is made up of a lived-in scene. Each scene is a collection of symbols and items that depict the meaning of the card. For example, the Magician shows a boiling cauldron with the cup, sword, wand, and other occult items the Magician would use. Another example is the Star card. It is a pot with honey dripping into it. The pot is by a lake with a swan in it.

These are all lived scenes that make up the overall meaning of the card. Each major arcana has a unique lived in scene that helps establish the cards meaning.

The minor arcana cards follow the same design ideas as the Tarot de Marseilles. Each pip card is a geometric pattern using the symbols of the card’s suit. The court cards are also unique and follow the rule of no human representations. Instead, the court cards depict the crown of each royal card. The Page, Knight, Queen, and King cards all show an elaborate crowns decorated with the element of the suit.

The deck as a whole represents the astrological and elemental association of the tarot. Each suit represents its element, and the major cards all have their astrological and Hebrew symbolic associations. This can allow the user to draw energy from planetary and elemental magick.

Personal Taste and Recommendation

I felt that the cards were a little too big for my liking and it made me shuffle the cards a certain way. Don’t let this dissuade you. The size of the card allows for a bigger picture. The back design is symmetrical and represents a handful of the occult symbols. The back design also helps establish the theme of nature. This is a good fit for those interested in the literal earthly elements. Overall, this is great experience for tarot enthusiasts. Enjoy the video.
