Pilgrims

Pilgrims and Tarot Cards

We are playing the game Pilgrims with the Path and Tarot deck! This is Pilgrims, a charming love letter to the classic point and click adventure genre of games. The game is beautifully designed with a unique art style that exceeds all of my expectations. The game has an outstanding soundtrack and sound design which I feel ties the whole gaming experience together. The puzzles you have to face are just difficult enough to make you think outside of the box, but they also contain elements of story telling. You should really play this game if you get the chance, and bring along your tarot too for additional insight.

Escape The Room With The Tarot

Escape The Room With The Tarot

Can I escape “The Room” with the power of tarot? I have no idea, but it’s worth trying. Using the tarot in unusual ways is one thing I aim to explore with PathandTarot. Can the tarot inform a video game? With previous games like the Binding of Isaac and Dome Keeper, it seemed to mirror the narrative I was developing as the player. It was uncanny. I say that word a lot, but I am afraid that it’s the best word that captures both my astonishment and my inability to explain what is happening.

Dome Keeper and PathandTarot

Dome Keeper and PathandTarot

I thought what would happen if I attempted to interject the tarot into a play-through of a game that has nothing to do with the tarot? Dome Keeper just came out, it looked great, I wanted to play it, and here we are looking at my first impression of the game while prompting with my tarot deck. I was alarmed at how well the tarot aligned with my play-through of Dome Keeper.

SHENZHEN SOLITAIRE With PathandTarot

Making content for social media can be a tiring process, why not take a break and play solitaire? That was one of the pitch lines for ShenZhen Solitaire by Zachtronics. Lets Play Cultist Simulator as a real Occultist

Let’s Play Cultist Simulator

I find that whenever I use multiple tarot decks I begin to visualize the play space as a video game. It just so happens that the Cultist Simulator by Weather Factory is a great visualization of what goes on in my head. You could be asking was it the chicken or the egg that came first. Well, I have to admit that I didn’t start reading tarot cards seriously until 2018 (that’s when the game came out). So, I guess well never know.
