Path and Psychic Card Guessing

The world of extrasensory perception (ESP) is still a topic that intrigues and captivates my interest. I had previously taken a break from my private study in ESP to work on my life and career, and now I am fortunate to have the time to come back to the topic.

In order to really dive into studying ESP I have to give credit to the creation of the Path and Tarot suite of cards. Without the creation of these cards, I would not be able to do the testing in the way I am now. The Path and Elemental deck was technically the first set of cards in the suite to be created to test myself for ESP, but all of these cards have played a role in how I approach ESP testing. The great thing is that these cards are my creation, and because of this, my intuition is connected to them. As the artist, I am grateful that I can sit down with the cards and demonstrate their use for you.

One night I was trying to keep myself occupied and I found myself doing card guessing with the Orphalese Tarot program. I used the modified 25-card elemental deck in the card guessing. The deck has five sets of five symbols, the five western elements to be exact. I made two guesses and both were correct. The chance of two guesses in a row is fairly unlikely, but not entirely improbable. If I would have continued making guesses I would get a string of wrong answers. I was inspired today and spent the morning recording a video doing card guessing. I have not done this since June of 2022. This time I would be using only 25 cards of the Path and Elemental deck. It would be a test that is more closely aligned with how the Zenner card deck was used in card-guessing in the early 20th century.

Path and Psychic Card Guessing Analysis

What I realized from 2022 is that the improved card guessing results were due to not only the increased odds in my Path and Elemental deck, but also how the collection of other data links your intuition to card guessing. What I concluded is that because I was collecting all this other data, it helped prime my intuition towards card guessing. I did better because I had tasks that made use of intuition. We could make analogy with exercise. If you stretch before you work out, you will probably have a better work out. The stretching I did was all the data collection and other tasks like tarot reading and playing beat the devil that improved my intuition.

In this test, I am collecting no extra data. I am only card-guessing and recording the results. What I expect is to get a correct answer 20% of the time. This is exactly what can be expected based on the Zener card’s historic results. In my test today I got 2 out of 10 guesses correct. This would be nothing above what is expected from the deck structure and my performance with it.

The great thing about using digital cards is that the Orphalese Tarot program shuffles the deck for me. I don’t have to worry about the human part of card shuffling and the sensory leak that can come from it. A sensory leak is when the person being tested can subconsciously use something in their physical environment to help with their card guessing. Shuffling the deck for yourself can lead to knowing something about the state of the deck before you make a guess. For example, if I saw the bottom card, then I would know something about the state of the deck. Whatever I would be able to know would then influence my card guessing, and the results would not be genuine. The Orphalese Tarot program prevents all of that from happening. It shuffles the cards each time without any sensory leak.

The fact I reached a historic baseline is good because this demonstrates a hard limit in terms of ESP in card-guessing. In the same way, the 20% chance of a correct answer is the hard limit for humans, it is also the hard limit for nonhuman card-guessing. In October of 2021, I conducted a test where I shuffled my elemental deck consisting of ten copies of each of the five elements. I drew out each card and recorded the sequence of the whole deck. I would shuffle the deck well and record the sequence of all 50 cards until I had five complete sets. I matched them all together in various permutations, and it all came down to about a 20% chance of seeing matches when the sequences of 50 cards were paired together. When I did this test I found that it was unremarkable. It told me nothing that I didn’t already know. I stowed the data away and stopped pursuing card guessing altogether, that is until now, in January of 2024.

Here is what I find fascinating. My Path and Elemental deck in its complete form with 75 cards gives me a 25% chance to get a correct answer when I guess one out of the five elements. The Zener card structure has five sets of five symbols and allows for a 20% chance of a correct answer.

Using my Path and Elemental Deck I scored 7 correct answers out of 10 guesses in a previous test documented here. This translates to me being able to score a correct guess 70% of the time. My Path and Elemental deck and its makeup allow for an increase of 5% in correct answers when compared to the Zener card deck. How does this extra 5% translate to such a massive increase in card-guessing performance? Was it the deck makeup? Was it the fact I was doing all these other intuitive activities to prime my consciousness and psyche? Are there mistakes I am not aware of? These are things I am bound to uncover, or just wind up with more questions. Either way, I look forward to finding out.
