PathandTarot Goals

What I hope to achieve in this blog is to document my progress to become a professional Tarot reader.

Systems have rules to them right? There are boundaries, there are things inside and outside of a system. I figured let’s just keep flipping the cards and placing them above the deck until I reach a harmony where all the cards are facing up. After doing this reading many times I would see the three cards all appear upright, and spreads where I had to draw many cards to place into the matrix to reach a point where all the cards were facing up.

I began to see that my answer for the questions I was asking were more complex the more cards I had to draw. My answer was not Yes or No, but a spectrum of possibility from simple to more complex.

I was beginning to find ways to solve the problem of not having to read the reversed meaning while still attributing a meaning to the fact they were coming up reversed. Maybe I was being lazy, but I still wanted meaning behind the random nature of the position of the cards. Each card that comes up reversed is turned right side up, and is placed above the deck, and is done until you have your 3 piles with cards upright. Then I read the results of the cards.

In some cases there are lots of cards placed above each pile of cards. That just makes for a more complex reading.

Everything is possible if you set your mind to it, so I wanted this reflected in my Tarot readings. My questions were answered with either a simple answer or more complex. The more cards involved in the reading the more challenges I would be faced with in making it a more complex answer.

This strategy suits me very well because I never liked hearing no you can’t do that. Oh ya? Try me. I am one of those people that if you say it can’t be done, I will be sure to find a way to do it. Or, I will break the rules altogether to make it happen. In my previous sales job my bosses would say that there isn’t much you can get out of these leads, they are old and it will be like getting blood from a stone.

How do you get blood from a stone anyways? Piece of cake. You smash those rocks into dust and pour water onto it. There is your blood from a stone. I am not going to smash these cards into dust, but I do hope to break them down into something new while respecting the deep tradition that is tarot.
