the Zachtronics Solitaire Collection

I present my introduction of the Zachtronics Solitaire Collection with both joy and sadness.

My attachment to the Zachtronics game studio was first through SHENZHEN SOLITAIRE, a mini-game found within the programming puzzle game SHENZHEN I/O. The solitaire mini-game was later released as a stand-alone title called SHENZHEN SOLITAIRE. I bought the stand-alone solitaire game and found myself lost in a world of plush green and Mahjong cards. Experiencing SHENZHEN SOLITAIRE was so good that I became interested in other solitaire games that you may have seen me play in videos.

The release of the Zachtronics Solitaire Collection was very exciting because I quickly understood that solitaire games were at the heart of the Zachtronics game studio. Each major release of the game studio contained a mini solitaire game. Perhaps Zachtronics was secretly a solitaire game company that made puzzle games?

The Zachtronics Solitaire Collection is a great way to send off the company and allow solitaire enthusiasts to experience their variations on patience. Being that my interest is primarily in the tarot I was very excited to learn that the collection’s main feature was an original solitaire game that uses a tarot deck!

My favorite games in the collection are Sawayama Solitaire featured in Last Call BBS, Proletariot’s Patience featured in EXA Punks, and the original Tarot Solitaire game Fortunes Foundation.

Each of the solitaire games is unique and well-balanced. The sound design is what stands out most to me. The way the sound effects of the cards blend with the music creates an ambience that I have yet to find in other puzzle games. Matthew S. Burns is the composer for the majority of Zachtronics games. His ability to deliver a unique soundtrack that matches the art style of the game is impressive and engaging. I find myself listening to his compositions outside of the games.

I am excited to deliver more video content on these solitaire games! Fortunes Foundation is easily the most difficult solitaire game I have played. I will beat it one day. So, come along for the ride, will you? Maybe we will see some fortunes along the way.
