I decided to start the Zener card diary again after a period of inactivity. The original Zener card diary took place from March to May with a final entry in July of 2020.
I am choosing to start the diary again after having contracted and recovered from the coronavirus. I had moments of graditude in my recovery where I realized how much I learned in the summer. During that time I acquired online diplomas in Parapsychology, Transpersonal Psychology, and Tarot. On top of this, I have since learned about printing tarot decks. I did lots of reading during the summer and read books on ESP and magick. Check out the resources page for an updated list.
I contracted this virus in late October 2020. My recovery happened after the second week of November in 2020. I have since lost my sense of taste and smell, and I struggle with random fatigue and headaches. This part of the recovery is slow, and it is unknown if I will recover in full.
The Questions
The coronavirus changed me, and as a result of that I wanted to re-test my ESP abilities. I have little taste and smell. Does that mean my other senses are enhanced? Coronavirus fogs your concentration, and much of your cognitive abilities. Will the virus have a long-term effect on one’s ability to use intuition?
New Found Experience
Using my new-found experience I am setting out to do more research. I am planning to use more tarot decks in my research and create new methods of testing.
I have already started my testing with 6 decks. One deck being my original elemental deck made for this purpose, and five other tarot decks.
I have modified the size of the tarot decks by taking out major arcana cards to equal the number of the minor arcana cards. The tarot decks are modified to 70 cards. 8 of the major arcana cards are removed to match the 14 cards in each suit of the minor arcana. This creates a big enough deck to shuffle and also have an equal number of cards.
The New Test Methods
What I will be doing is shuffling each of the five tarot decks well. If you want to se see how I shuffle chek out this article on how to shuffle tarot cards.
Once shuffled I place the decks in a case where they sit for some time. When I perform the test I draw one card from each deck as my guess. I will log the results and keep track of them over time.
Separately, I will use the original elemental card deck to test myself. With the elemental deck I will draw a card and shuffle it back into the deck on every guess. This is called an open deck test.
I will only do five guesses per session because I have found it to be the sweet spot in ESP testing. Going through 25 guesses is mentally taxing. Often the subjects get wrong answers because they are second-guessed themselves. Their first gut feeling was almost always right, but they don’t realize it.
What I was able to learn is that correct answers come in flashes. In the majority of correct answers (hits), the subjects knew right away they had given a correct answer. This is much different than how they made other answers.
How do I replicate that condition of knowing a right answer? I know there is something that happens before you get a correct answer, the body knows it’s coming. How does one create it? Can it even be created? Is this something we can control? Look forward to what I uncover next.
